Learning Analytics in the Learning Technology Hub
Learning Analytics Support
The LT Hub can help you access and make sense of learning data. We offer a partnership program to support faculty members’ pedagogical inquiry, explore actionable sources of data, and develop processes, data tools and/or visualizations to answer your pedagogical questions.
The Learning Data Committee
The Learning Data Committee (LDC) provides high-level strategic direction for learning analytics projects and practices at UBC. The committee also acts as the UBC Data Steward for learning data.
Learning Analytics Faculty Partnership Program
The Learning Analytics Faculty Partnership Program is intended to catalyze evidence-based teaching and learning inquiry through learning analytics data. Find out how the program works, when deadlines fall, how projects are selected, and where to apply.
Learning Analytics in the Faculties
Just as learning analytics is a diverse field of practice and research, it also takes many forms across UBC. There is an active and diverse community of teams and individuals who engage in learning analytics work across both campuses. Often situated within teams that offer instructional support, edtech guidance, and learning design. Learning analytics often occurs as an embedded part of many of UBC’s faculties.
The Faculty of Arts
The Arts Instructional Support and Information Technology (Arts ISIT) Learning Analytics team offers analytics and reporting services to Arts faculty and staff who are engaged in administrative processes.
The Faculty of Science
The Skylight Team supports UBC Science departments and programs with data-driven decisions toward student success.
The Faculty of Medicine
The Educational Technology Team has a number of projects underway, including those with a learning analytics focus.

LAVA
The Learning Analytics and Visual Analytics community holds regular meetings where members share upcoming or current learning analytics (and visual analytics) projects.
MET: ETEC 543
ETEC 543: Understanding Learning Analytics is offered as a course in the Faculty of Education’s Master’s of Educational Technology, students in the MET program are introduced to the field of learning analytics.
